Occupational Health and Safty in Agriculture; The case of small holder farmers in Ejisu Municipality

The Temporal Analysis of Vegetation Loss in Obuasi Using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index Data From 1990 to 2024 investigates the impact of illegal mining activities on vegetation cover in Obuasi over 34 years. Using NDVI data from Landsat imagery, the study classifies vegetation health and analyzes changes from 1990 to 2024. The findings highlight significant vegetation degradation due to illegal mining and urban expansion. Presented at GHIGCON-2024, the research emphasizes the need for sustainable land management policies to address environmental challenges in the region.

Temporal Analysis of Vegetation Cover in Obuasi, Ghana

The Occupational Health and Safety study examines the risks faced by smallholder farmers, including injuries, stress, and health issues from exposure to harmful substances. Using data from 195 participants, it highlights the impact of these challenges on farmers’ livelihoods, crop yields, and family well-being. The study advocates for targeted interventions and government support to enhance sustainable farming, build resilience, and improve rural communities, ultimately promoting food security and economic stability
